DZD, London

Can you believe that DZD has already been around for 25 years?  Neither can we..! The much loved guys here are celebrating their anniversary this year and held a fantastic breakfast celebration last week, not only to celebrate the company and their achievements but also more thoughtfully and sensitvely in honour and memory of their founder Mark Gosen who sadly passed away last year.  In conjunction with the event the team raised funds for the Macmillan cancer care trust as well as entertaining their enormously varied clientele.  Who hasn't bought at least one thing from this brand as their products really are the bedrock of our industry,  and thank goodness always here and always producing the kind of products that you can find no where else.  In case you didn't know DZD also have an amazing bespoke service too.  We always leave these guys' showroom and studios absolutely aching from laughter as they are such enormous fun to be with; ferociously quick witted and incredibly warm with it.  If you have an idea for a new concept (or not) or gearing up for this seasons events then just click on any of the images here and have a look at their brand spanking new website which looks incredible and see how these guys can help you.

Austin Reed, London

Don't forget UK Wool week will be launching soon on 6th - 12th October here in the centre of it all and no doubt rippling out across the country.  Austin Reed are leading the way with the installation of their latest scheme along Regent street.  Repetition of cones of yarn have be used here, placed against a brushed steel backdrop with their large format current campaign images.  Now in its 5th year and supported by its patron HRH The Prince of Wales, the launch will also include brands such as M&S, Barbour and Jigsaw.  We will of course try and capture additional brands' schemes as they happen to share with you.

Armani, London

We often pass by this store on Bond street, and although these guys have such small windows they do tend to produce some quite interesting schemes.  We were particularly drawn to the use of these graphics.  Hopefully you can see that product images are actually three dimensional and illuminated from behind.  The abstract mannequins which are in a Black finish have also been placed on light boxes; this kind of indirect lighting really helps to elevate the product overall within a scheme.

Genesis Display, London

Did you see the launch of the new Genesis mannequins last week?  Sadly we couldn't make the event ourselves but the team have kindly sent us some fantastic images to share with you.  The latest collection oozes the glamour most welcomed right now as the weather gets gradually colder and the days so much shorter here in London and as we begin to crank up to the Christmas season.  Both stylised and natural figures are available to you and for more information contact the gorgeous Nicola here in the UK at n.skinner@genesis-display.com or check out the Genesis website at http://genesis-display.com/en/

Moschino, London

We don't quite know what to say other than Moschino has a Barbie..ish scheme in place at the moment at their Conduit street site.  There you go.  Our lips are firmly zipped other than that and we will let you decide what you think.

Dover st. Market, London

Wow, this is so fricking interesting don't you think?  Just one product in the window and an installation of a large Black ship in its Black, possibly perspex cut 'sea'.  We don't know much more about this scheme than that and we're guessing that this is another installation by the clearly talented Pheobe English.  Although we could be wrong.  Either way this demonstrates the confidence of this incredible brand.

Anya Hindmarch, London

If you haven't got your AW14 wardrobe then you are probably already too late as we're now in SS15.  This scheme raised a smile as we passed by with its lashings of 70's advertising and POP art of yesteryear.  If you love a bit of nostalgia or even if like us you actually remember the Frosties adverts and its Tony the Tiger's slogan 'They're Grrrreat' then you can do no worse than separate with your hard earned cash and splash out on something new straight from the runway.  In the meantime the gorgeous products have been lovingly placed in Golden shopping baskets with Golden fruit to match.

Tiffany, London

As many of you will know Gene Moore was the 'VM Guru' of Tiffany for so many years until a staggering aged 84 years old and really did determine how this brand looked and looks and therefore we imagine it is incredibly difficult (although not impossible) to move away from their usual style or attempt to reinvent it.  Of course a bit of nostalgia, while slightly romantic and comforting it doesn't do any harm and naturally (as we recognise and expect it) works so incredibly well for this product.  We've mentioned previously about the links to an Architectural trend happening around town so here's another example.  This is quite an abstract installation which allows us to interpret it however we wish?  As always perfectly executed.

Longchamp, London

Just another RIBA collaboration for today's entry and this one is in conjunction with the fantastic Longchamp and the architect Brisac Gonzalez.  The windows 'consist of rectilinear frames that create a series of striated hollows',  'The bags reside within three cocoon-like cavities that gently taper with mirrored surfaces refracting the exquisite colours and sublime lines of the bags to the passers-by.  In layman's terms, repetition of rectangular forms really.

Burberry, London

With the recent launch of the latest fragrance 'My  Burberry', the brand of course have installed their latest scheme based on the promotional images which can be seen just about everywhere right now.  Large prop bottles are used as plinths on which multiple mannequins have been positioned in a repetition format; naturally wearing their signature merchandise on which the fragrance has been inspired.  Beautifully executed windows.

Hackett. London

Following on from our series of RIBA collaborative schemes, this one at Hackett by Jeremy Tate Architects and produced by those clever guys at Harlequin Design really is one of our favorites.  Here we have a 'Jacobs ladder of images and interlaced ribbon which is activated by rotating the top block to create a tumbling effect'. As each block flips over the next to reveal a hidden image generating the movement and drawing the eye of the passers-by into and around the space.

Proportion>London

Were you at the Proportion>London launch in Clerkenwell last night too?  If you missed it then, wow, what an incredible event attended by our industry's finest movers and shakers and the VM glitterati.  We always love to visit here as the environment oozes creativity and find the guys so incredibly welcoming which is why no doubt their events are so well attended; every presentation detail is always so carefully considered by the team, your glass is never empty and there's always someone fun to catch up with.  Of course the serious bit is the launch of their new gorgeous collections, Capsule, Boudoir and Theory.  We have included a few images here, but as always its better to go and see these for yourself if you can.

SFD, London

We have had just the best evening of LFW and London Design week and its not over just yet.  We partied with the best of the industry and have only just got back to show some of it to you.  Naturally this is just a 'smidge' snapshot although it is late and these images aren't even the half of it although we will share some more with you shortly.  Are we slurring?  Anyway, here we go, SFD, Rubber covered mannequins and a fantastic collaboration with Lauren O'Hara.  An amazingly creative team.  Thank you guys for such a fun evening.

Karen Millen, London

Karen Millen always seem to work with such sophisticated and sensitive architects with their RIBA collaborations (remember Manu Mani from last year?)  This collaboration with EKM architects 'brings the Karen Millen woman to life in an evocative snapshot of the energy and character of their atelier in London's East End'.  'Three dimensional mannequins were scanned and animated, sliced and projected to generate a feeling of movement mirroring the daily adventures of the modern urban woman'.  Think Gunthur Von Hagens Bodyworlds but without the gory bits and a whole lot more palatable.

Planet Aspects, London

What a treat we've had this evening spending it with the lovely guys at Planet Aspects.  We've been thoroughly 'wined' and presented with the most incredible show from the clearly talented Christopher Beales' latest collection here in the heart of London.  The new and fantastic collection from Planet Aspects was our main focus and features figures generated from Cotton mesh.  Yeah we know..! How amazing is this new innovation.  Each figure has been created from this mesh which can be reused just by dipping it back into hot water and yet pliable to dress effortlessly.  There aren't even numerous separate parts to loose and this material comes in a multitude of outcomes which can be interwoven and delivered in a gloss or matt finish.  Just check out their website at http://www.planetaspects.co.uk and contact the ever so gorgeous Julie Foster for more details.
