Dover Street Market, London

Another delicious installation at Dover Street Market right now by Simone Rocha and J Brand.  Gorgeous Reds, Pink and Black dressed bust forms in a repetition format complete with tulle covered heads.

Ralph Lauren, London

Wow, how incredibly glamorous does Ralph Lauren look right now?  This monochromatic scheme clearly references the glamour of the old movie stars although apart from that we don't know much more.  It appears that their social media hasn't kept pace with this seasons offer so we can only guess.  However do have a quick look at our video as even in its simplicity it does make the scheme come a little more alive.

Gant, London

Images Courtesy and Copyright Gant

We absolutely fell in love with the use of plaster in this scheme when we first saw it as it immediately reminded us of the work of the Artist Rachel Whiteread.  Gant's collegiate Winter season collection in Cream, Navy, Grey and Camel looks stunning in this scenario.  The inspiration behind the scheme is based on the library at Yale University where the mannequins become the characters in the narrative of two young people who studied together and meet once again at the Christmas party.  The books themselves form the backdrop in a repetition format with the use of mirrors to increase the depth of the space.  Each day we say that the scheme we include is our favourite and we find ourselves catching our breath at every turn here in London as it is looking so good right now.  So, today this is definitely our favourite to date.   Just check our video too....

Uniqlo, London

Giving colour to everyone this season Uniqlo are quite literally qlo-wing from their windows.  With their multi-coloured spheres in both gravitational and repetition formats with sensational neon lighting this is one of our favourite schemes right now.  Just check out our video to feel the atmosphere here in London right now too.

Tiffany, London

If you want or need a fantastic example of beautiful showcase windows then look no further than Tiffany; the master of them.  It took a while to capture this but we did manage to film a short video of the installation for you. The scheme is a fun miniature Manhattan narrative complete with flashing lights too...oooh.  A beautiful fun scheme, albeit very cookie cutter, Caucasian and heterosexual....well they are the only people who buy this stuff, right?  But if you can see through that then this scheme is very nice....;o)  Do some luxury brands need to realign their schemes for an international audience and local clientele?  Shall we answer that for you?  Yes, they do.  In the meantime just check out our video here...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNqdRmOPhd0&list=UUsubIQJFMNM6ZVPlgxA4MaQ

Conran, London

Oozing Christmas from every single pore, Conran is looking particularly festive.  We haven't included this brand before now (probably as we don't tend to venture this part of town very often) Gorgeous products - and lots of them - fill these enormous windows.  The snowman's Christmas party is fantastic fun and if we were 5 years old again the magic of the season would be made very special.  As adults we appreciate the quality of the work here instead.

Joseph, London

London is looking so fricking cool at the moment.  Christmas lighting is virtual everywhere and suddenly we are beginning to feel ever so slightly festive.  However, we do prefer a more interesting and sophisticated Christmas rather than being seduced by the stuff for the tourists and if you do also then look no further than Joseph along the Fulham Road.  Oozing from their windows, their current scheme is looking absolutely delicious.  If you want something other than fairy lights, Christmas trees and the usual bling then look no further.  And this merchandise......stunning.  Just check out our video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbV_jwary1M

Penhaligon's, London

What do we say about this scheme really?  It ticks all the Christmas boxes colour-wise and looks great.  Actually what we did love about this was the use of the tins here with the baubles beautifully stacked.  Some knackered old slightly rusty ones, the kind that looked like they've seen a bit of history, maybe had a secret life somewhere, perhaps a few affairs, now that would have been particularly gorgeous but maybe that's not the look the brand want.  Its just that we do.

Asprey, London

We always become nervous when we see real wooden logs in store windows.  The reason for this is that if they are not dried out enough they steam up your windows and all sorts of creepy crawlies begin to emerge just when you don't want them to.  Of course, being a super luxury brand everything is carefully thought through and usually so far in advance that these things are managed out. Rocking the yule log look is Asprey right now, and how seasonal does it look...! Beautifully produced and communicating the brands' values perfectly.

John Smedley, London

You know that Christmas is getting nearer when we're talking about sweaters.  Here at John Smedley of course this is the king of knitwear.  With its rotating mannequin in a gravitational format surrounded by a woolly panelled cave created from 10kg / 200 metres of their finest Merino wool we just want to step into the window, wrap up and be snuggled.

Coast, London

Just in case you are facing the Christmas malaise then don't worry Coast will be launching their amazing new collection for SS15 quite soon which we guarantee will excite you. Here's some shots to whet your appetites and give you something to look forward to (there is hope on the horizon we promise) once we get through this season.  Femininity is key here with a relaxed attitude. A romantic theme dominates their collection with gorgeous florals, lace and embellishments alongside simple draping with see through clean sculptural silhouettes inspired by the 60's.  This brand is a breath of fresh air and we cant wait to see their supporting window schemes. Just go and check out their website www.coast-stores.com in the meantime and enjoy this party time of year.

Hackett, London

Never packing light for Christmas is the strap line at Hackett this season.  Crammed to the rafters with product the detail in this scheme is quite phenomenal.  We did try and get a close up of the stitching of the Black London Cabs' door simply as we were rather in awe of the quality of  the props here which are so superbly produced (although clearly difficult to capture as we did it very poorly).  Christmas of course wouldn't be Christmas without the usual references to ice skating so here ya go.

Fortnum and Mason, London

A bit of holiday decadence never actually killed anyone did it?  Then go on, indulge yourself in a bit of F&M this Christmas.  We're trying to resist calling the latest scheme at Fortnum and Mason a Winter Wonderland as the term is so overused and to be honest we find it such a nauseating term....although of course it is actually Winter and it is, naturally wonderful.  With the delicious products set among references to caves, folies, and ruins of faded glory there is a certain romance to this scheme which is drawing in the crowds.  It took ages to get even these images as it is so jammed around the store. This is a good sign of course that the scheme is actually doing its job, and so beautifully too.  In fact so beautiful and so delicious that we think we may have licked the glass itself.

Liberty, London

We were so pleased to see the Christmas scheme here at Liberty this year after last years quite 'economic' installation.  If you are following the fly on the wall documentary on television about this gorgeous store then you will know that the Visual Merchandising is under new creative directorship, and wonderfully creative it all is too.  How fantastically lavish are these windows?  Unfortunately there is no information currently about this scheme on the Liberty website so we can only guess that the narrative is based around the brands heritage, i.e. that the timbers from which the store was built in 1875 came from two ships and there appear to be references to these within their scheme here.  Oozing the luxury that this brand is synonymous with we cant help but keep checking out what delicious things these guys are doing time and time again.

Next, London

We imagine that this brand don't have big budgets even at Christmas time and although we have never included them before now, they are making an impact on the high street so its worth including them now.  OK, this scheme is not going to change VM history but it has a certain something which communicates a level of quality.   The scheme is generic, but they have made an effort.  Moving forward into 2015 hopefully this brand will rock again like it did 20 years ago, it just needs a bit of vision.
