Harvey Nichols, London

Wow, Wow and wow.  Harvey Nichols yet again demonstrate what makes them so Uber cool with their Knightsbridge store oozing another perfectly produced scheme with gravity defying, sword slowing and submerged mannequins.  Of course as a fashion-led store the key element is the product itself although the narratives here are so entertaining and detailed with huge doses of humour thrown in that we have had to go back time and time again as we keep discovering so many new elements; job well done then.  If you want to be entertained, amazed and amused then pop over to their Knightsbridge store and allow yourself to be consumed by this scheme.  Amazing guys.

Scotch & Soda, London

Well we did say recently that there was a big tropical / foliage thing going on right now and we have to say that Scotch & Soda is looking really very good and super seductive.  It was late at night when we walked passed their store on Carnaby Street so our images haven't picked up every detail although with their cut out foliage and mash-up of textures and designs this brand looks very cool.  We love their products anyway and the styling is fantastic.

John Smedley, London

We do love the dip dyed effect we're seeing in fashion right now.  We've actually seen this trend at Burberry recently too which looks amazing.  Here at John Smedley (clearly the Guru of all things Knitted) has the Compass In Indigo piece in their window all of which have been hand dyed and therefore making each piece unique.  We're not sure we would pay the prices commanded by this brand for knitwear although each piece is superb but with busy lives we just need to wash and go rather than (probably) dry clean each time.  Still it looks great and the product is amazing.  Great abstract installation supporting this presentation too.

Selfridges, London

Have you seen Selfridges Agender Campaign yet?  The current installation is a 'celebration of Fashion without definition' which 'explores and examines the shifting gender boundaries through ground breaking fashion, music and design collaborations'.  Do check out Selfridges website as this is one brand who offer a whole heap of information to the visitor which really helps to understand what they are doing and why.  Superb stuff from this brand as always.

G-Star, London

Forget the Bronze age and forget the Iron age.  Apparently we are now in the Plastics age, wasting 288 million tones of the stuff each year.  Unlike so many of our products, Plastics are rather more durable it seems and and what doesn't end its useful life in landfill ends its life in the sea.  With this in mind, G-Star, co-designed by Pharrell Williams have launched a new Denim collection made from re-cycled Ocean plastic.  A very worthy cause we thought and great to see this initiative receiving high profile support.

Desigual, London

Giant Daisies and freakishly big cut out eyes; it has to be Desigual then.  One of our favourite little windows in London which always have a massive personality, the scheme here this week appears to make historical references, based on the styling of there mannequins.  These types of scheme always work so well of course here in the UK being the land of nostalgia an' all that.

Anthropologie, London

If you want to see one of the key trends happening across a multitude of brands then look no further than Anthropologie and their fantastic foliage.  Foliage is all across town right now from Warehouse to Scotch and Soda and here of course with their in house made props this brand as always looks sensational.  Pop along to their Regent street store as it really is oozing creativity from every retail pore.

Cos, London

Beautifully elegant and almost Museum-like (in a really good way) are the windows right now at Cos.  Merchandise has been beautifully placed on what appear to be references to old style drawing boards perhaps suggesting the care and thought in place behind each of their products.  Who knows?

Topshop, London

With its interlocking structural forms in a multitude of colours, Topshop as always is rocking the high street.  Just look at the dramatic catwalk that they have created with their clever use of mannequins.  Simply stunning.

Bershka, Dubai

This is a really fascinating scheme at Bershka right now with their incredible use of Refraction.  We're not entirely sure if this scheme has gone around the world although here in the Mall of the Emirates we spotted this one which drew us in.  So good to see some thought going into their schemes with huge doses of originality.  Its not often Science meets Visual Merchandising so if you have never seen one before then here it is.  The mannequins somehow let this scheme down a little though, don't they?

Gucci, Dubai

We viewed this scheme back in London so its clearly one which has gone global.  Repetition of radiating forms which look almost like embroidery rings.  There not much else to say about this scheme although it does have great impact in these enormous Dubai Mall window spaces.

Wanderland, Hermes, London

If you haven't seen the Wanderland exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery then you are missing a fantastic treat of a show.  Hermes is one of those luxury brands who we feel strangely connected with.  OK we own nothing of the products but we have been hooked into their philosophy and brand presentation.  Wanderland takes you on the fantasy journey of the Flaneur (The Flaneur was originally a literary type of the 19th Century although we are all flaneurs if we walk the streets of London in order to experience it)  The exhibition consists of a series of 11 rooms in various media created by range of diverse artists; some of the rooms are included here.  The digital media is quite mind blowing from a storm in a tea cup to an eye in a bottle.  This is great fun to see if you have a minute and really worth the small effort it takes to go.  The exhibition is on until 2nd May so make sure you catch it before it goes on to Paris and then to Italy.
