Selfridges, London

Wow, if you haven't seen Selfridges latest installation for the Apple Watch then here's a snapshot for you.  The most incredible out sized flora (and beautifully produced it is too) fills their enormous run of windows.  We made a quick video for you to capture the mood although as this area of town is so busy we haven't been able to include the whole scheme.  Go and see it in person if you can.

If you want to see a carefully and thoughtfully constructed 'mash-up' of Starmania, Tron and Blade Runner, then look no further than Galeries Lafayette, Dubai.  Their latest installation, 'Metropolis Race' is their latest scheme with lustrous surfaces and contrasting details with an underlying reference to sport and its associated lifestyle.  Beyond the usual schemes we normally come across in Dubai this is certainly one of the best we've seen from this area of the world so huge kudos to the team here.

Instant Print W1, London

Its not often that we include stores like this but as they have just installed this incredible scheme it is more than worthy of inclusion.  In conjunction with http://www.sfd.co.uk the guys at Instant Print W1, have created this amazing installation within their newly formed collaborative working space here in central London.  Included in the scheme are graphic images of London's skyline and wood which has been channeled in order to creatively highlight the origins of their raw material.

Sonia Rykiel, London

After years and years of very little in their windows Rykiel have finally committed themselves to a very substantial installation at their London Store.  And how great it looks too.  A library scheme with a freshly painted interior in a deep Red, this really does change the whole space of the store and we really do hope that this will change with the seasons.  Who knows?  But in the meantime you can check out our video which we feel captures this scheme better than a static image https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_WKy75t-40

Hackett, London

We do love a great Hackett window and this week we have a bit of a Vintage theme going on along Regent street.  Sideboards, vintage ceramics and a great piece of Art work create a wonderful interior space within their windows right now.  Just check out our video.  If you are unable to view it here then just click on the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zo-UoJl_BEg

Jaegar, London

We do love old and historic brands, but particularly ones which perpetually reinvent themselves and haul their retail asses into the 21st century while still maintaining the feel of their brand which attracted their core customer in the first instance.  Check out out video below for more detailed information on this one (if you are unable to view our video via email please check out the main page at retailstorewindows.com)

Clarks, London

Have seen Clarks new installation yet?  No? then here's a snapshot for you and how different does it look from the dusty old brand it once was?  If you happen to be along Regent street then do go and take a closer look.  With their Night and Day windows in Blue and Gold this really is rocking the high street and such a pleasure to see this brand not afraid to leap forward.

Bershka, London

We didnt quite 'get' this scheme although we do love the aesthetic.  Concrete (or probably Concrete-esque) is one of our favourite materials and we have grown to really love what this brand do in their windows although we do wish that we knew more about their schemes.  In the meantime, please have a look at our video and maybe tell us what you think of their scheme?

Made.com, London

If you happen to be in Soho, here in the centre of it all, then you can do no worse than check out this latest installation at Made, com  In conjunction with Bureau De Change this flagships' store's installation consists of almost 40,000 clear rods puncturing this stores 10 windows.  This amazing showroom, for this usually on-line brand acts as a 'bricks and mortar' space for their amazing products.  A great example of show-rooming we think and something we are seeing more and more of.

Jack Wills, London

If you are familiar with the annual Visual Merchandising calendar then you will be aware that the Summer season will be over shortly and those 'Back to School' schemes will be kicking in.  Ahead of the game are Jack Wills right now with their 'Back to Study'  launching at their Covent Garden flagship store, all in Pink and Blue.  We will certainly include any other schemes we come across as soon as we find them.

Scotch & Soda, London

We're not entirely sure what this scheme is all about beyond the repetition of radiating forms.  These props do look as if they have been influenced by some of the merchandise here but beyond that and the possible references to travel and local crafts we don't really know.  We have a great video anyway.  (If you are unable to view it via our email list then please do check out our main website)

Topshop, London

Glittering right across Oxford street, who could help not notice what Topshop are doing right now?  With their revolving mannequins on mirrored boxes this scheme is screaming across the high street and looks amazing too.  As still images simply don't communicate how effective this scheme is we have included a short video of it for you to appreciate and marvel at this installation.

Longchamp, London

There's a hint of the Memphis trend here at Longchamp which reflects what brands such as Chanel and Mulberry are also doing right now.  We are slightly surprised to see this trend as it has been around for a while already and we thought it had already come and gone.  Clearly not.  These kinds of trends usually begin with luxury brands and trickle down to the mid-range brands and even lower, however, it seems Rogers' curve is becoming ever flatter and mid-range brands are actually getting in there first.

Smythson, London

This must be one of the best schemes which we have found at this brand.  In this current trend of personalisation and customisation and following in the footsteps of brands such as Hermes and Louis Vuitton, Smythson have produced a scheme which highlights the beautiful craftsmanship of their products and explaining the narrative through beautiful images and a variety of props.  Just check out our video here to get a better view of the overall scheme.

Fenwick, London

We were so pleased to see that jewellery from Alexis Bittar has been launched here in London at Fenwick along Bond street.  If you travel to NYC then you would have seen his shop along Broome street close to Dash which is owned by the Kardashian sisters.  The NYC store of course is a little more risque with its stuffed jewellery wearing Zebra, Penguin, Chicken etc, although in the current climate probably not wise to emulate this here in London.  With its on trend sparkling Copper coloured backdrop the windows here look rather impressive.  Go check them out or glean an overview in our video.  The scheme has been tweaked and changed a little since we made our video however.

Isabel Marant, London

If social media is to be believed there appears to be a bit of a sculptural trend happening globally right now, although not necessarily in retail store windows.  Here at Isabel Marant, who always produce such interesting schemes, although they dont change very often, but they do look great nonetheless.  We're not so sure about those bust forms however (shoes always look so awful placed like this)

Akris, London

With their product-led scheme right now, Akris, although not the most exciting scheme on the high street, it is delicate and simple.  We just wish these guys would give us a little more to talk about but it is what it is so here you go.

Dolce and Gabbana, London

Using repetition of electric guitars to create a backdrop to their product, Dolce and Gabbana are literally rocking the high street right now.  We kind of wanted to see some famous archived ones in here although we guess they are limited in their availability.  Check out our video below and tell us what you think?

Sotherby's, London

Who would have thought that we include Sotherby's on retailstorewindows.com, eh?  Well here you have it.  We normally associate this global brand with a certain type of customer which excludes most of society.  We've never known anyone from this brand nor ever ventured inside to see more of what they do besides selling very expensive stuff.  That said, we are pleased to see that they at least have a sense of humour.  Advertising their Beyond Limits (The Landscape of British Sculpture 1950 - 2015) at Chatsworth.

Dover St. Market, London

If you happen to be near Bond street then do make a short detour to see the scheme at Dover st. Market right now.  Incredible merchandise of Leigh Bowery proportions are contained within these scaffolding and paper 'boxes'.  There's not much information about this installation so probably best to go and have a look for yourself.  Otherwise check out our video below (please note that if you are receiving daily updates via email, the video wont be attached but you can see it either on our YouTube channel of via the main site.)
