Beats by Dr. Dre, Harrods, London

As part of the Live Smart campaign at Harrods throughout October, once again the guys from Millington Associates collaborated with the brand and Beats By Dr. Dre. in the production and installation of this incredible technology-led window scheme.  This cubist style scheme which showcases a selection of Beats products within a structure of individually branded gift boxes hint at the pending major event of the year, Christmas.  Amazing stuff.

Gucci, London

We quite like this installation at Gucci which we have passed on numerous occasions and thankfully there are no security bars in front of their windows at the store along Sloane street to obscure our view.  We've also included this latest campaign at Dover Street Market which is a smaller version of this one but without this illusion.  This is a product-led scheme we guess from their GG Bloom collection which can be seen on their website - think granny's old wallpaper but with a whiff of luxury.  You can check out our video below or through this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLRAq0a7yBQ

Harrods, London

If you want to see some old school window display at its finest then look no further than Harrods.  During October the brand launched their Cover to Cover Magazine which encapsulates all menswear across the store. Harrods have been hosting a range of special events, personal appearances and of course highlighting their amazing windows.  We don't have a copy of the magazine ourselves but maybe they will send us one for us to peruse (is that subtle?)   We've managed to capture some of the windows in our video but it was incredibly busy even at night time so we just have a snapshot for you to see if you missed them.  You can check our video here too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwpSfEYii9k

Joseph, London

We do love coming across old fashion houses with an enviable and incredible history and this one showcased at Joseph along Brompton Road here in the centre of culture and fashion is no exception.  Rochas is a French Brand which dates back to 1925 and founded by Marcel Rochas who was the first to design 2/3 length coats and apparently skirts with pockets.  After a chequered history, it of course has new creative directorship and so great to see this brand back on the fashion map.  Joseph at the cutting edge yet again.

Anya Hindmarch, London

We normally have a look at this brands Bond street store although this one along Sloane street is proving to be a lot more interesting (only because of the size of the space here).  Drawing on their AW15 range inspired by Motorway graphic signage, lights and reflective surfaces this scheme also has these rows of workmen intermittently sprinkled throughout in a repetition format.  We're loving the humour here in the scheme although the product appears to be going down the same path as Moschino so perhaps we should leave our comments there.  Great scheme though and you can check out our video here too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsGXk8Ow_6w

Tom Ford, London

This is possibly not the most extraordinary scheme we've seen at this brand although we do love these rather ghostly photo negative-like perspex boxes which form the backdrop to the windows.  You can view the overall scheme in our video below although the details here are probably the most interesting element.  Check out our video through the link here too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRVX4-qf6Cg

We've been to see this latest installation at Harrods so there's more for us to share later this week, however you must go and see this window in particular.  The future is already here it seems.  Elemental Design were part of this exciting project which celebrates menswear at Harrods with their latest campaign 'Cover to Cover'.  This particular window features an LED screen with a moving thermal  image of the Harrods Magazine which showcases both the current issue and the iconic Element fabric technology.  Technology is certainly the way forward we feel.

If you haven't seen the latest campaign from Paul Smith in either London, Hamburg, Milan or Heathrow airport then here's your chance to take a peek.  In conjunction with Millington Associates who have delivered this campaign, Paul Smith have recently launched their 'A Suit to Travel In' promotion.  The 100% woolen suit has been designed to withstand the challenging conditions of intensive travel and its spectacular flexibility is demonstrated by the British Olympic medalist Max Whitlock who performs a series of gymnastic moves while dressed in 'A Suit to Travel In',

Maison Martin Margiela, Selfridges, London

Elemental Design really do produce some of the most incredible work and this installation is no exception.  Right on trend, collaborations are leading the way in retail and store windows and with one of our favourite brands, Maison Martin Margiella, we were really excited to see their latest installation.  This pop-up fragrance site within Selfridges, celebrates the global locations of each of the products.  This in-store event also allows you to personalise your own fragrance (with a label with your own name) and personal memory, making this whole experience so exquisite.  What a delicious find.  Phone in sick today and go and experience this.

Chanel, Madamoiselle Prive, London

If you haven't seen the Chanel, Madamoiselle Prive exhibition yet then here's a snapshot for you.  Well, actually this is it (nearly).  We were quite excited to get a visit to see this in the diary last week although possibly, after being spoiled by the recent Hermes and Louis Vuitton exhibitions this one sadly lacked just about anything interesting.  This is such a shame as clearly a lot of money has been thrown at this installation and ironically, for a change the windows actually look quite good (video below) and lead you to the exhibition quite nicely.  Its only saving grace were the giant vats of coloured liquid of Wonka-style proportions (video below) which open quite dramatically and intermittently with puffs of dry ice.  Nice idea but we guess our expectations are high and this exhibition would have been worth a miss.  Some information during the exhibition would have been helpful.

Coach, London

We did see this scheme a while ago on social media but only just had the opportunity to include it now.  Coach seem to be the master of amazing props at the moment (remember the Gorilla hands recently?)  Here we have what think is the Brooklyn Bridge (correct us if we are wrong) in a faux perspective view; we have spotted a few of these types of perspectives recently around town at Oasis and Hackett so there is some collective thinking here.  We did give the Coach site a cursory glance but  haven't yet made the connection between their current campaign and this scheme although we're sure that there is some joined up thinking here somewhere.  You can see this scheme in a little more detail in our video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMciO0-KIoQ

Pull and Bear, London

Pull and Bear really do some great schemes, at least at their store along Oxford Street.  With their rotating mannequins and a kind of 80's Pac-man-style digital backdrop this scheme really does draw people in.  Fortunately we were able to make a quick video for you to appreciate the kind of movement which is lost in a still image so that you can view the impact that this scheme has.  No doubt this installation cost a mighty pretty penny and then some but these kinds of schemes really do push the boundaries of what is Visual Merchandising or at least what it can be if we invest enough.  You see our video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Qe-PEfNpvo

Corneliani, London

We often pass by this store along Bond street, although we rarely stop and examine what they do.  However, clearly someone has gripped this little puppy of a brand by the throat and shaken it up a bit and how refreshing.  How cool are these giant hand props.  In their secondary window are a series of bust forms which demonstrate the layers and craftsmanship which goes on behind the product which you can view in our video here.  Great to see this brand finally looking so interesting.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF981eclOlI

Diptyque, London

Following what appears to be the Totem trend which we have mentioned over the passed few months Diptyque of course looks as always perfectly delicious.  We have shown you this trend beginning at brands such as Louis Vuitton during the Summer time so it will be interesting to see how or if this trend trickles down to the mid-range retailers over the coming months.  You can check out our video here anyway to get a better overview of this scheme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iehck3hSvN4

Georg Jensen, London

The creative team at Millington Associates have recently collaborated with the  Danish Silversmith and watch brand Georg Jensen in the recent opening of the brands' new boutique within the village at London's Westfield in West London.  These enormous light boxes overlooking the main entrance to this amazing mall  are dominated with the Monarch and Karner Butterflies which are central to their new jewellery collection which has been designed by the Australian sculptor and Artist John Askill.  If you happen to be in Westfield then do look out for this fantastic new edition to their luxury brand collective.

Those lovely guys at Elemental Design have just collaborated with the set designer, Artist and Illustrator Gary Card to produce this incredible installation, Bombay Electric which is Mumbai's answer to Dover St. Market.  As part of the current Selfridges Loves India promotion this pop up brings together some of India's most fashionable and innovative Indian brands all under one roof.  Do go and check this out if you can as it really does look amazing.

Hackett, London

Launching their Modern Country Campaign the windows at Hackett as always are gleaming.  We're actually quite amazed how much they manage to get so much into what is a relatively small space, but they do.  This scheme consists of custom made wooden panels and foliage to create this dynamic perspective.

Double RL, London

If you happen to be in NYC then do go and look at the Double RL store along West Broadway as it really is quite a spectacle.  The store staff are mean in allowing you to take images but then we never worry about these kinds of things and it is a treat to go and experience anyway.  We're not sure if the London store compares to its sister store in NYC but the windows are interesting anyway with a huge assortment of vintage props.
