Bobelfair, New York

In our last few entries from the lower east side before we head back to London and the dreaded Sale period and no doubt a sea of Red and White schemes (hopefully we will find something creative out there) we're including the last few schemes which we've spotted around town including this fun one at Bobelfair and their suitcase filled with a model town scape.

Adidas, New York

We don't tend to be excited to see sports stores but this one along 5th Avenue is quite amazing.  With its sports benches facing out onto 5th Avenue and large video screens this is like no other Adidas store we have seen around the world.  Check out our video below (you may not be able to view this on your phone if you receive these entries by email so we've included the link here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soK9hByJiVc&t=3s

doob, New York

If you wanted a 3D Printed you then look no further than doob.  Just off Broadway this incredible place offers you the opportunity to be immortalized in miniature for ever more.  After stepping inside what looks like a time machine or tardis, every detail, every facet of the perfect you is captured and a few days later a mini you is produced.  Slightly scary in one respect although technology and the experience is clearly the way forward and so great to find these places.  Were we tempted?  Well, not really but we are sure that this place is popular.

Reformation, New York

We cant quite see mainstream brands adopting this strategy in their graphic package somewhere on the high street so it takes a boutique such as Reformation here on the lower East Side of Manhattan to put it out there and make us stop in our tracks, and a welcomed and refreshing strategy it is too.  We're not quite f***king ladies ourselves but you get the giste and clearly being naked is actually the most sustainable option (although not a good option in a New York winter)

Assembley New York, New York

A nice clean space feels completely appropriate at the moment after months of glitter, trees and baubles and a trip down to the lower east side is just whats needed.  We dont know much about this fashion store although the simplicity of the scheme with their Art studio-like installation drew us in after days of decadence.

Barnes and Noble, New York

Thankfully thats Christmas out of the way then and time to begin planning the next one.  In the meantime we are still scouring the city for less seasonal schemes (because lets face it thee's nothing worse than looking at Christmas schemes just after Christmas, right?) and this one at Barnes and Noble caught our attention.  We dont include book shops very often as they dont tend to do very much but this installation with its illustrated backdrop and life-sized figures looked quite appealing.

Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With String, New York

Even on Christmas Day we find ourselves writing an entry for you (just for now at least before we crack open something bubbly and alcoholic) and this incredible installation 'Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With String' by Hu Bing at the Flatiron building seemed to be the most appropriate entry to share on this day.  Wishing you all a very Happy, peaceful Christmas and Wonderful Holidays wherever you are in the world.

Dsquared2, New York

We've spotted this scheme at this brand back in London although thats global branding for you.  With their advent calendar structures, the doors of which we think move (although very slowly and its too cold to hang around here) the scheme of course captures the season beautifully.  Just a few more hours until the big day.

Rag and Bone, New York

We've spotted a few schemes around New York which are using television screens, although mainly vintage ones (we guess because they look a little cooler) although this scheme at Rag and Bone which wasn't easy to capture given that the screens were flickering quite a lot (think the film White Noise) is still an interesting one.  While not particularly seasonal this scheme is a refreshing change from all of the glitter and trees in the city at the moment.

Brunello Cucinelli, New York

We've been following this brand back in London for some time now and the schemes just get better and better.  Their New York stores are quite spectacular though and this monochromatic scheme in Grey (possibly 50 shades of it we're guessing?) is no exception.  We've made a video (below) of this scheme as its hard to appreciate the detail of the work here in a still image.  Just a few more days to go before the big day and sadly schemes like this will fade, well, to Grey we guess.

Private White V.C., London

There's nothing like a good old British hand made product (not easy to find these days) and of course the world loves it.  This is quite a new brand to us, and so is http://www.shepparddesign.co.uk/ who created this scheme for this central London store.  It still amazes us that so many hidden gems pop up from under our radar (possibly VM-dar?) but still its another delicious find to share with you.

De Beers, London

With De Beers being the signature and epitome of all things luxury it was a pleasure to come across their installation with its slightly tongue in cheek 'Home of Diamonds' windows here in the centre of it all.  London phone boxes (which incidentally can now only sadly be seen in the centre of London, usually with tourists hanging out of them for that necessary photo opportunity) and of course the omnipresent post box with a cut out London cityscape forming the backdrop.  All props have naturally been exquisitely produced for this Uber brand.

Fishs Eddy, New York

We've included ABC here this week which is a corker of a store but across the road is Fishs Eddy which we always check out as part of our journey.  Rocking a staggering 30 years, this store as always looks incredible (and a lot cheaper than ABC).  While we dont know a huge amount about this brand they do always have amazing products which are inclined towards a local market and therefore great for those more interesting gifts to take elsewhere.  Just a few more days until Christmas and the city is as freezing as one would expect this time of year.

Tods, New York

There is a version of this scheme back in London although this installation here in New York is far superior in the quality of its execution; the London version has velour curtains which don't really do the product justice.  We haven't seen references to Circus since the incredible scheme at Louis Vuitton a few years ago and this scheme does look spectacular particularly as the size of these windows are so enormous.
