Hogan, Milan

http://www.retailstorewindows.com

Hogan is looking more and more like a brand to watch as their Visual Merchandising is ever more exciting and they are clearly investing in interesting schemes.  Their latest installation here in Milan looks like its been inspired by molecular structures (perhaps references to the Sensitive Science trend we've seen around for a while?) onto which their products are placed.  Looking great.

Santoni, Milan

http://www.retailstorewndows.com

We're not familiar with this brand here in Milan so another delicious find for you if you don't know it either.  After a cursory glance across the internet it transpires that Santoni began producing their limited edition men's shoes back in 1975.  A thoroughly Italian brand which sells their products both here and selected boutiques around the world and includes luxury retailers such as Harrods department store in London too.  Clearly communicating the craftsmanship involved in creating their products in this installation with the use of these multiple shoe lasts in a repetition and radiating format.

Moncler, Milan

http://www.retailstorewindows.com

One of our favourite brands for Visual Merchandising right now is definitely Moncler.  We've never met anyone from this brand on the VM circuit so we have no idea who produces their window schemes, however they are always absolutely superb.  We're not fans of the product particularly although the schemes are second to very few.  As always, beautiful props in this fantastic store (just difficult to capture in a photograph)

Herno, Milan

http://www.retailstorewindows.com

We are not familiar with this brand so its quite exciting to find something new and local to the area.  The clothing is hanging slightly abattoir corpse-like from what appear to be carabina style metal loops and while this is not the most exciting scheme in the world as the product is clearly luxurious it does have a certain impact we guess.

Dolce & Gabbana, Milan

http://www.retaistorewindows.com

In the land of Dolce & Gabbana and in a city which appears to have more of this brands' stores than H&M's (yes that many) we have seen some amazing installations across the various facets for which this brand cater.  This installation in particular drew us in with its picnic basket landscapes with tiny narratives included.  OK, well the scale is slightly awry but this doesn't really matter as this is all part of the interest in these pieces.  Clearly a SS16 installation referencing travel and holidays which of course are typically in line with the season.

Berlutti, Milan

http://www.retailstorewindows.com

With their interior inspired installation Berlutti of course as always delivers a super luxurious scheme.  The windows at the store back in London are virtually the same size of those at Tiffany so its no surprise that the schemes usually lack the impact delivered by this store here in Milan.  Beautiful products and great narrative this street near this epicentre of creative window schemes close to the Via Monte Napoleone is so worth a visit if you can.

Kenzo, Milan

http://www.retailstorewindows.com

Its usually very difficult to capture a Kenzo scheme back in London and we only have the occasional opportunity to view the Paris store so we were particularly delighted to find this store here in Milan.  Rocking the kind of look we usually see at Moncler the scheme here includes an out sized hand in a gravitational format with what appear to be strands of pouring from it onto a giant dish (we don't know if this has any significance so can only guess if it actually refers to anything).  The main scheme has vinyl arch forms across the window and on the back wall and this is this is the scheme which flows through to La Rinascente, the cities main department store (and we guess across the world too)

Hermes, Milan

http://www.retailstorewindows.com

We're in Milan for a while to explore the retail store window delights around the city, and we've found some amazing schemes already.  Just look at this installation at Hermes.  Scrolls of paper used in a repetition format of varying sizes just looks stunning.  We haven't been to look around this city for a long, long time and yet there really are some very interesting things happening here which are firmly putting this place on our VM map.  If you get the chance then do check this city out as there are some magnificent stores to view.  In the meantime we will be sharing what we have found with you each day this and next week.

Penhaligon, London

http://www.retailstorewindows.com

Do check out Penhaligon's website as this scheme ties in really well with their online promotion.  This beautifully produced Luna inspired promotion complete with rotating structures looks fantastic.  Moonlight and Romance (or Moonlit Romance according to their website) celebrates Endymion which cutting through the marketing fluff apparently ultimately smells of leather.  But anyway, a great installation and perfect  fragrances for this time of year.

Valentino, London

http://www.retailstorewindows.com

We were quite excited to see that Valentino has opened a brand new store along Bond street recently and have been waiting to see what they would do.  This brand don't tend to produce the most interesting visual merchandising unfortunately (apart from Christmas schemes) although this Graphic led scheme does make quite an impact within the relatively small window space they have at this new site.

Tiffany, London

http://www.retailstorewindows.com

Beautifully delicate and of course romantic in the traditional sense, this incredibly produced 'wire' structure at Tiffany looks fantastic.  Of course being so tiny these things are so difficult to capture in an image however we're sure this scheme has been implemented the world over so best to go and see this one for yourself in order to truly appreciate it.

Gant, London

You probably haven't seen this scheme yet as it has literally just been completed.  If you wanted to know what 10.000 individual threads looks like in a retail store window then here it is.  Working through the night, the team at www.harlequin-design.com have installed this fantastic new scheme at Gant along Regent street.  Thankfully the Visual team at Gant are not afraid of putting the creativity back into window schemes and this bold statement demonstrates the confidence this brand have in their product.  This was no doubt phenomenally time consuming to install however the visual impact of this is very much appreciated.

Massimo Dutti, London

This is a dramatic installation from Massimo Dutti.  With references to travel and possibly Cholita Fashion we particularly adore the Red Bowler here worn by the central female mannequin.  Did you know that the positioning of how a female wears this is actually quite 'loaded'?  For example, if worn to the side it denotes that the female is single, worn in the middle of the head it communicates that the female is either married or widowed and apparently the local joke is that if the bowler is worn over the back of the head it means its rather 'complicated'.  Who knew, eh?.  Anyway great narrative which huge impact from this Italian brand.

Marks & Spencer, London

If you love a fantastic collaboratively produced product then look no further than M&S right now.  This one, in collaboration with the super model Jourdan Dunn and a great scheme produced by www.harlequin-design.com is quite a corker.  The repetition of these cubes in a gravitational format carry the lil' LonDunn graphics which communicate that the brand is taking a much more conceptual approach to their schemes rather than adopting the usual style we've seen over time however this makes the windows look more like a department store than the usual M&S and this is a much welcomed relief.  Great to see this brand looking so good and energetic.

Louis Vuitton, London

http://www.retailstorewindows.com

Most of the luxury brands around town have been celebrating 100 years of Vogue.  Here at Louis Vuitton naturally no expense has been spared with its digital candles dutifully flickering away forming the background to their luxury products.  If only everyone had budgets like these guys do.  Can you imagine what the high street would look like?
