Galeries Lafayette, Dubai

In collaboration with Dubai Design week, Galeries Lafayette's latest installation at their middle eastern store presents 'Through the Lens': An interpretation of photography.  This stunning installation in one of their windows appears to have been produced in perspex (although we are not absolutley sure).  Given that production of props in this part of the world takes some doing in order to reach a 'desired' aesthetic, we are always amazed at what these guys do.  Who knew Dubai had a Design week too?

Christian Louboutin, Dubai

The Dubai Mall is certainly an experience to add to your list of places to see and enjoy (possibly a little retail worshiping).  While this place can be overwhelming the first time around (wear comfortable footwear, this place is a beast) once you know it you can cut through to what you want to see.  At Christian Louboutin, the scheme is absolutely stunning with these small flashing set-design-in-miniature narratives which are clearly drawing in the punters even though the footfall during our visit was very slow.

Did the scheme draw these two in?

Enticed in by the scheme and job well done.

Harvey Nichols, Dubai

We are in Dubai this week and searching for the latest exciting schemes across the malls.  There are a few corkers which we will be uploading this week, beginning with the iconic Harvey Nichols which we always make a beeline to see.  With their 'This is Luxury'  window strap line and old fashioned giant clock faces with Roman numerals repeated throughout their two floors of windows this scheme certainly makes an impact.  All of the product handling dynamics are of course in place although the amazing energy we usually experience seeing their installations is rather dulled; this is probably due to trying to appeal to a local demographic, who knows?  In store looks amazing however.

Chanel, London

Combining a mixture of two and three dimensional props in their latest scheme, Chanel is gradually looking better and better.  While this brand is not our favourite and the aesthetic doesn't appeal to our own preference, the amount of work that some schemes take to produce is always appreciated in tandem with every ounce of effort made.  We recognise that this brand has a certain following and does exceptionally well within its own market although we wont be buying any of the product ourselves however.

Anthropologie, London

As avid followers of our site will know, we are huge fans of this brand and their window schemes; well their props at least.  It is so rare to find any brand in the current climate in which we find ourselves working in the way that these guys do and we really hope that the artisan quality of their schemes will be adopted by other multiples across the high street.  Bring on the localised creativity and keep supporting the skills of the fantastic visual merchandisers out there.

Dolce and Gabbana, London

This brand must surely have an army of people working with them as they are enormously prolific on the high street and there are schemes galore across their various stores.  Gone are the Tennis rackets and balls from the Summer season at one of their stores along Bond street and bringing on the large steering wheel props, Dolce and Gabbana are probably referencing one of their AW16 collections we imagine although as there is so much visual information on their website and lets face it, how many of us have the time or inclination to go through multi-layered websites, we can only really guess.

Mulberry, London

This is one brand we haven't looked at for a while although we do pass by quite often when its closed.  Rocking a bright yellow paneled background and patterned floor, the product as always remains super desirable and naturally their famous bags take prime position for you to spend some time worshiping outside their Bond street store.

Fendi, London

While we are not big on their fur collections (does anyone really need to wear fur anymore?) the colours used in their products and installations are quite superb;  right up there with Prada who really do seem to understand colour and colour combinations so deliciously.  We are trying to make connections with this installation and their latest collections which is proving no easy task so we can only guess we're afraid, however with their fantastic background, superb product and mirrored floor the latest scheme is making quite an impact along Bond street right now.

Coach, London

We're not massive fans of the Varsity look ourselves (thankfully Jack Wills dropped it some time ago) but the props here which surround the product are superbly produced.  The AW16 campaign is very clear on this brands website so its easy to make connections between what we see here in their windows and their on line presence and certainly captures the eclectic spirit of New York but more importantly links perfectly to this London context.

Moncler, London

Moncler is a gift of a brand that just keeps giving.  As always, superb props at their Bond street store and this month mannequins strategically positioned across a giant cow bell complete with (we guess) an illuminated Austrian montainscape.

Stradivarius, London

We haven't looked at this brand for a while although they have been producing some cool schemes.  We were particularly drawn in by the Pink of the wigs and the gallery style backdrop and although they have a relatively small window space they do manage to generate an impressive impact on this side of Oxford street.

Bally, London

London Fashion Week has descended on London yet again and if you haven't seen the latest exciting collaboration between www.millingtonassociates.com and Bally then here's a snapshot for you. Staging their amazing AW16 collection the latest scheme consists of a checkerboard carpet and a heavy velvet curtain held back with a brass plated frame.  The men's accessories collection has been complemented by a smoked mirror and brushed brass plinth while the women's collection has a wonderful zing of Pink and Green with Brass details. Do go and check the store if you can as these things are so much more appreciated in the 'flesh'.
