Liberty, London

If you like to follow the amazing annual RIBA collaborations as much as we do, here’s the first scheme we’ve spotted.  Architecture Social Club’s installation focuses on the figure of Arthur Lasenby Liberty and casts him in the role of fashion’s liberator.  ‘Arthur’ is shown to herald a new promise of higher quality fashion for the city and this installation’s narrative involves the iconography of ‘Noah’s ark’ which plays on the naval history of this Tudor-revival building which was constructed in 1924 using the timbers of two ships: the HMS Impregnable and HMS Hindustan.  The detail here is quite phenomenal so do go back several times to take a look.  Truly stunning.
