If there is one brand that do out sized props incredibly well it has to be Moncler. We always make a beeline for this store as their others seem so small by comparison and they really do make big statements here. A life sized Whale of a statement in fact. Filling the entrance space before you even get to the product itself, this is one confident retailer. Of course their products are copied by so many of the mid-range brands and seem to be the particularly popular street-uniform of Italian and Spanish tourists however if there is one store you should go and have a look at here in Paris its this one.

Christian Louboutin, Paris
Almost like a fairground the product here in this relatively tiny window space is beautifully focused within these illuminated radiating forms in a repetition format. Other than that there isn't much else to mention about this scheme although it is of course beautifully produced.

Colette, Paris
If the crowds are anything to go by, Colette of course is the centre of all things cool along the Rue St. Honore. The store, in you are unfamiliar with it is brimming with all of the things you never knew you needed (or wanted) with collections from luxury brands you may never even have known existed and ones that are just about everywhere else. The staff here seem to be a lot friendlier than they used to be too, probably realising the power of social media so taking photographs no longer seems such an issue. Gucci in one window and vinyl on the fenestration of the other with the strapline 'Boy Meets Girl X Care Bears' we are clearly missing something here although judging by the amount of tourists making large purchases this concept obviously works incredibly well. We. on the other hand left with nothing.

Laduree, Paris
Of course we couldn't come to Paris and not include the delicious Laduree (or at least one of their many stores here). Mountains of their amazing macaroons fill the windows here in conjunction with their pastel coloured packaging and neon lighting. Paris is one of the few cities in the world that really do make an Art form out of all things sweet with the fantastic Chocolatiers and cake stores on virtually every street corner.

Hogan, Paris
Further along the Rue St. Honore we have the Hogan store. We've really come to like this brand since we spotted it along Sloane street back in London although we after scouring their website we cant decipher what this scheme is actually about. We love the Urban Landscapes interactive digital media and the use of the prisms in their 'Light Match' campaign but the cacti-shaped structures and Lemons on the floor of the window has escaped us.

Brioni, Paris
Men's suits are notoriously difficult to make interesting. There is a probably a very fine line in between camp and masculine where installations for this type of product is concerned but with their rather abstract props in a coloured chrome finish this Italian brand dating back to 1945 has done quite an interesting job. Well, it does get noticed. We are guessing that the props are references to the fine tailoring and presented as giant spools of thread although there is no joined up thinking via their website so it is only a guess.

Loewe, Paris
We were initially wondering what the connection between the brands' product and this 'Vessels' scheme is however on further investigation we are guessing that this forms part of their research and 'continual exploration of the aesthetic, material and functional possibilities of leather'. We are slightly guessing of course. Do check out their website however as they are clearly doing some incredible research and development which will continually refresh the brand and the products they produce.

Goyard, Paris
With a wonderfully rich heritage dating back to 1792 and an inclination to be so secretive its painful, this is probably one of the best schemes we have spotted for this brand. Super luxurious luggage all beautifully hand made, its no wonder that it comes with an eye watering price tag. Who knows what this scheme means however?

Kenzo, Paris
We're in Paris for the next couple of weeks before hitting the delights of Euroshop (maybe with a few London bits in between) and where better to begin than Kenzo. The London store is always covered with security grilles so we never seem to have the opportunity to capture their windows but here in Paris close to the Champs Elysees this stores windows are huge and glow. Large neon lighting with the brand logo scream its presence although how do we describe the main scheme? References to pixels perhaps with the addition of coloured filters and coloured vinyl on the fenestration?

Wedgewood and Waterford, Frankfurt

Creating an enchanted British Garden complete with meadows of lush foliage, trees, and floral walls www.millingtonassociates.com recently worked with the amazing and historical, Wedgewood and Waterford on an installation for their launch in Frankfurt consisting of among other elements, a Jasper Conran inspired meadow, wild and bursting with colour contrasting with a White Vera Wang wall to showcase their bridal collections. A beautiful ambient space created for this iconic brand.

Scotch and Soda, London
We did see the tropical plant trend quite a while ago so it seems slightly odd to view it again and particularly this time of year. We're guessing that it is at least somewhere where this scheme is installed it is nice and warm as they dont tend to localise their creativity (from what we have seen across their stores internationally) and perhaps this scheme works elsewhere in the world?

Karl Lagerfeld, London
Oh we do like a great travel scheme and the latest one at Lagerfeld is no exception. 'Fly with Karl' is the strap line here which clearly links with the latest collection from this phenomenal brand. What is so interesting about this scheme is what is actually missing rather than what is in place and the clever use of the iconic elements from air travel is communicated beautifully well.

Charles Tyrwitt, London
If you like a bit of old school window display then this is one for you. This brand seemed to have woken up with this scheme and we once again have a bit of energy oozing from these windows. They also have installed this scheme in stores further out of town (rather than a watered down version) and this is really great to see. A bit of humour and protesting bust forms what more could you want. Please keep this creativity coming guys throughout 2017 as this really does make a difference particularly when so many brands have returned to the giant photographic format again recently.

Illamasqua, London
We haven't been passed here in a while although this brand dont tend to change their schemes that often. We are actually surprised that they even have a scheme in these tiny windows but they clearly do and a welcomed effort it is too. Rocking the space look complete with Rockets and lipstick planets it cant help but raise a smile in the freezing London cold right now.

Debenhams, London
Well we have to include at least one Valentines scheme we guess. Scouring around town there are not a lot of brands promoting this commercial event (strangely, yet thankfully) as this is not our favourite event of the year - but that's just us. However, that said, the installation at Debenhams right now is quite a corker with these really interesting three dimensional heart forms highlighted with Pink lighting. So, there you go, one obligatory scheme, although we have say, a very good one.

Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen
While this installation is not of course a retail store window we do look for inspiration beyond the usual areas such as brands and what is happening on the high street when we produce our own work and as this was such a gem of a find that we couldn't not include it here. The Kunshal Charlottenborg itself dates back to 1883 and has been the venue for showing various contemporary Artists, new talents and providing glimpses into the future. This particular piece by the German Artist Hito Steyerl called Factory of the Sun 'is a ground breaking immersive video installation that addresses the constant flow of images and advanced image technology of the present day with references to surveillance, computer games, globalisation, modern warfare and anti-capitalist movements'. The opening line here is 'this game plays you'. Scary stuff, but right on the pulse of where we are all going.
