Zara, London

We happened upon this scheme the other night although the full run of windows had not been completed so we only have a snapshot for you.  Some really great schemes have come from this brand and their store on the corner of Regent and Bond streets and the current installation is no exception.  Currently featuring this magnificent New York fire escape prop is Zara right now.

Moschino, London

We don't quite understand the narrative here although we're guessing that this scheme might be based on a story?  (we just don't know which one).  There's a kind of suburban wax museum diorama vibe going on here with mannequins in rather strange poses, possibly post-argument and trying to tell us something although we just know what?  This is what is out there right now.

Roger Vivier, London

Wow, just look at this little beauty.  We discovered this brand several years ago in Paris and then happened upon their store here in London.  There have been some fantastic schemes coming from this store along Bond street here in the centre of it all too.  We have no idea who produced this but we love this shade of Blue  (it appears to be the same shade as the Yves St. Laurent house in Marrakech) and of course the statement giant head.  This is only a small space but this brand really do pack a punch with every scheme.

Liberty, London

It's been a long while since we looked at this stores' windows although they do appear to be having some work done on the outside of the space which means that the windows are rather hidden at the moment however  the amount of vinyl on the windows doesn't really help as at night time they are very dark.  We've always found vinyled (is that a word?) windows quite interesting as they act like a kind of striptease, i.e. things which are revealed are far more exciting than if we are simply presented with them.  Additionally, they are quite an inexpensive solution too but work really well here with the application of colour and phrases.

Fenwick, London

We actually captured this scheme a few weeks ago although we were not quite sure whether to include the images as there is so much reflection on the glass from Victoria's Secret across the road.  But here we go.  It is so great to see such uplifting colours in this scheme particularly as so much of the high street looks so grim right now.  Beautiful jewel tones with decorative lighting and the strap line, the beat goes on is Fenwick right now.

Mulberry, London

There appears to be quite a trend for using these abstract forms in presentations at the moment.  We mentioned Gant here yesterday (just scroll down) which is applying the same kind of principles and of course Massimo Dutti, to a point at least.  Interestingly these kinds of trends have been developed by Luxury brands (traditionally), however as everyone has access to the same information we guess these things can happen simultaneously too therefore it might be worth changing the resources everyone is using as their starting point for inspiration?

Gant, London

We have seen some fantastic schemes from this brand and been to some of their amazing launches although not for a long while now.  When they were across the street from their current space they really did rock the high street although now they just seem to have faded slightly into the background noise of other retailers (when things get better we're sure they will be amazing again).  We're not big fans of the Varsity-look ourselves although we also recognise that we are not the target audience either so it really doesn't matter.  Is it just us or is there a  Marant /  Mulberry / Cos vibe going on here too with the use of these bizarre forms.

Massimo Dutti, London

If you want to see simple yet beautiful windows then look no further.  We included this brands' window scheme from their Regent street store recently however we seem to recall that this one is along Oxford street.  The same key thread to the current scheme is still present of course although a slight variation on the main theme.   Beautiful interior products have been included here as well as their fashion ones in order to generate this Fine Art vibe happening in their windows right now.

Michael Kors, London

There's a kind of creative studio space feeling about this scheme which is actually less of a scheme and more of a vibe.  We like the idea of this.  Just capture the vibe.  Black and White photographic images have been placed on the back wall as if for inspiration with product placed in front although you have to look closely to see the connection however.  As always this brand have continually delivered even these wretched times.

Karl Lagerfeld, London

We've seen some great schemes from this brand in the past and while this one is very clean and simple we expect when things pick up again we will see some of the great narratives that they usually produce beginning to reappear.  Currently the stark White backdrop of this enclosed window space is punctuated by giant cut letters forming of course the initials of the brand.  The secondary window does seem to appear to be the poor relative however and doesn't quite receive the same amount of love as their main space which is a shame.

Cos, London

We really do love the simplicity and cleanliness of this brands' windows.  There's a slight Scandi vibe here we feel.  With a bit of a nod to interiors with the use of the furniture, flora and of course the product presenter which is like a giant version of something which jewellery brands would normally use, this is the latest offer at their store along Regent street right now.

Lavazza, London

It has never occurred to us to look at this brand before now however we happened upon them along Great Malborough street here in the centre of it all and just look at these windows.  It really is great to see these kinds of brands, in this instance, a coffee one, making such an effort although given their location and the superb quality of their product we really shouldn't be so surprised.  Great to see them doing some wonderful stuff anyway even though its really only a graphic (which we are rarely fans of) and hopefully we will see more stuff coming through in the near future.

Canada Goose, London

We're slightly loathed to include this brand as we hate their use of fur.  Thankfully no fur on show here though.  What is interesting to see however is that they are moving to a more sustainable approach with their products although as with all large brands we are never really convinced about their actual intentions and we guess time will tell if this is something they are serious about.  There are some interesting initiatives on their website also including the Fur buy back program.  We've had a great idea, maybe just leave it on the animal in the first instance?

Curiouser and Curiouser, London

We recently included the Bags exhibition here from the V&A as a part of own research and naturally inspiration.  If you are feeling mentally exhausted then why not drop by the other current exhibition at the V&A here in the centre of it all.  Curiouser and Curiouser, obviously the tale of Alice in Wonderland is the focus here however the key element which we were particularly interested in was the inspiration from the experience.  We only have the space for a few images here however do check out our Instagram through the link below for more images of this phenomenal exhibition.
